Our newly refurbished rooms are stylish, sleek and comfortable, with most located above the pub, with some across in our cottage.
The Fleece in Witney is perfectly located for leisure breaks in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds, or a weekend away to enjoy the tranquillity of Witney. It is also very popular with business travellers who are looking for a more friendly and convivial place to stay than one of the big chains.
We serve top quality British seasonal food and our bar is a lovely place to sit and watch the world go by with a cup of delicious coffee, a grand gin or a great glass of wine. There’s plenty to do in the beautiful town of Witney, with a trip to Wychwood Brewery being a must, and only a stumble away.

All of our rooms have really comfy beds, great linen, lovely bathrooms and toiletries, as well as mod cons like flat-screen TV with Freeview and free WiFi. We removed all plastic bottles from our bathrooms, replacing them with a refillable and more eco-friendly aluminium bottle. Our rooms also have tea and coffee-making facilities to make you feel right at home. We also have a dedicated onsite car park and when it’s full, there is plenty of space around Church Green.
*Not in all rooms.
Get the most from your stay at The Fleece with our Peachy Perks, whether it be for a family staycation, business trip or simply a night away from the same four walls, we’ve got you covered and our duvets do too, literally.
Located in a lovely, leafy spot in Witney - no matter whether you are here to work, relax, study, eat, drink or be entertained, the town and surrounding area has lots to offer. Witney is the largest of the market towns in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds and much of the architecture reflects the past prosperity of the woollen trade, including the 17th century Butter Cross and church of St Mary the Virgin with its 150ft spire.
We want you to feel as relaxed as possible in our pub. Safety has always been important to us, and now even more so than ever. There are several new ways we have adjusted to maintain both yours and our team’s health whilst you stay with us; from hand sanitiser around the pub, to spaced out tables and beautifully covered outside areas.
